Some moments in life leave a lasting mark where God’s presence feels especially near. That’s what our time ministering in our beloved Cambodia meant just a few months ago.
Pieter & I spent most of our days ministering at New Life School in Phnom Penh, where now more than 700 students are learning & growing --not just in academics, but in character, integrity, & the ways of God.

If you were to walk the halls of this four-story building, you’d soak in the energy—the buzz of the classrooms, the chatter in Khmer in the stairwells, and witness teachers pouring themselves out with so much heart & faith. It’s a school of HOPE even when the days are long & the challenges big.
One especially meaningful moment occurred on a hot, humid Tuesday afternoon. Pov--the principal & a dear friend--drove us over dusty streets to a building a bit out of town.
As we climbed out of the van & stepped into the thick air, we were greeted by a bright-eyed, smiling 24-year-old. Shreylin (pictured at left) is the director of a student center, where hundreds of young Cambodians come in the late afternoons & evenings to take English, computer, & Bible classes.

What touched our hearts most was when we learned Shreylin had walked the halls of New Life School as a student since FIRST GRADE! She shared with us that we had actually sponsored her since a little girl to attend the school. And now, here she was, fully grown into a leader, stepping up to pour life & love back into her community & other children at risk.
It was a beautiful, almost holy reminder that transformation isn’t just possible, it’s happening right before our eyes. One generation to the next!
THANK YOU for standing with us in prayer, love, & support. Together we’re writing a story of hope in Cambodia that’s reaching far beyond the classroom. And Shreylin is proof!
To our gracious God be all the glory ~ Pieter & Dawn
